Salisbury University is closely monitoring the track of Hurricane Erin as the storm heads toward the East Coast. Currently, the National Weather Service (NWS) predicts the hurricane will remain offshore. However, due to the storm’s size, impacts are expected to be felt inland, as well. Some outer rainbands may clip eastern portions of the region, including Wicomico County and surrounding areas, Wednesday evening into Thursday, August 20-21, potentially resulting in localized areas of heavy rain and strong winds, as well as minor to moderate coastal flooding. At this time, SU expects to remain open. For the latest information on any weather-related disruptions, please visit the SU News webpage.
