SU Announces Summer Carillon Concerts

SALISBURY, MD---Salisbury University welcomes guest carillonneurs for three concerts on its Samuel R. Brown and William D. Church Carillon at the Patricia R. Guerrieri Academic Commons this summer.

They include Liam Flood on Saturday, July 12; Jesse Ratcliffe on Friday, July 18; and Dr. Michelle on Saturday, August 2. All concerts begin at 7 p.m., rain or shine.

Flood has been an associate carillonneur at the Netherlands Carillon in Arlington, VA, since 2023. A student at the North American Carillon School, he also performed on the Altgeld Chimes at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign while studying there.

Ratcliffe is the director of music and organist at All Saints’ Episcopal Church and associate carillonneur at the Joseph D. Baker Carillon, both located in Frederick, MD. He is a graduate of the North American Carillon School, completing his postgraduate studies at Westminster Choir College.

Lam, also an associate carillonneur at the Netherlands Carillon, was the resident carillonist at Grosse Pointe Memorial Church in Grosse Pointe Farms, MI, from 2019-2023. An alumna of the Wellesley College Guild of Carillonneurs, she has served as the co-chair of the Guild of Carillonneurs of North America’s finance committee since 2023 and was elected to its board of directors in 2024.

A fourth concert, performed by Dr. William Folger, SU professor of music, is scheduled 2:30 p.m. Sunday, September 7, as part of Fun Fest in the Nest, a community event celebrating the SU Centennial at the beginning of the fall semester.

Admission is free and the public is invited. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own seating to The Square, adjacent to the Guerrieri Academic Commons.
