After you have completed all of the steps to finalize your aid and enrollment, your financial aid will be credited towards your first and any subsequent tuition bills. Please keep an eye on your GullNet "To-Do" Checklist for any outstanding items that could be impacting your eligibility to receive federal student aid. If you are due a refund it will be available approximately 5 days prior to the beginning of the semester dependent upon your method of receipt (direct deposit).

The disbursement of alternative / private loans will begin approximately 10-15 days prior to the start of the semester. Please pay special attention to any loan disclosures provided by your lender and ensure you apply for alternative /private loans early to prevent delays. If you are due a refund it will be available approximately 5 days prior to the beginning of the semester dependent upon your method of receipt (direct deposit).

The disbursement of institutional aid is similar to federal and state aid. After you have been awarded the institutional award, your financial aid will be credited towards your first and subsequent tuition bills as applicable.

Other sources of aid will disburse to your account when funding has been received by Salisbury University. Please check with the relevant agency to determine an estimated disbursement date. If funds will not be received by the time of your first tuition bill, please complete a "Bill Correction Form."

• Fill out the FAFSA form each year.

• Make Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). ¶¶ÒõÉçÇø¶ÌÊÓƵ receiving federal student aid need to make satisfactory academic progress in order to continue receiving federal student aid. In other words, you have to make good enough grades, and complete enough classes (credits, hours, etc.), to keep moving toward successfully completing your degree or certificate in a time period that’s acceptable to your school. All repeated courses affect financial aid satisfactory academic progress calculations, regardless of whether the student received financial aid or not, all repeated coursework must be counted as attempted credits.

• Continued scholarship eligibility will be monitored at the conclusion of the fall and spring semesters. ¶¶ÒõÉçÇø¶ÌÊÓƵ must meet satisfactory academic progress standards as defined in the financial aid policy. In addition, recipients must maintain the required minimum GPA, complete a minimum of 24 credits per academic year (30 credits for Perdue Scholarship recipients) and in some cases remain in an eligible major for their particular scholarship for continued eligibility. Scholarship funding for students who fail to meet the minimum required standards will be terminated with the exception of first-semester freshmen. First-semester freshmen who have achieved a minimum 2.0 GPA at the conclusion of the fall semester will be permitted to receive their scholarship funding for one additional semester, after which they must be meeting minimum requirements for continued scholarship eligibility. A termination letter will be sent to any student whose scholarship is terminated.
• Scholarships will be paid to a student for a maximum of eight consecutive fall and spring semesters. A student who finishes his/her course of study in less than eight semesters or transfers to another institution will not receive a refund of unused scholarship monies or an increase in their award amount for the enrolled semesters.
• For most undergraduate scholarships, continuous full-time enrollment is required to retain the scholarship. Full-time enrollment is defined as enrolling 12 or more credits for each fall and spring semester.
• Most scholarships may be used while studying abroad for up to two semesters.
• ¶¶ÒõÉçÇø¶ÌÊÓƵ have the right to appeal for reinstatement of previously terminated scholarship funding. ¶¶ÒõÉçÇø¶ÌÊÓƵ must again be meeting the minimum required scholarship standards to request reinstatement of scholarship funding. ¶¶ÒõÉçÇø¶ÌÊÓƵ who are meeting the minimum scholarship criteria within two semesters (fall/spring) of the discontinuance of their scholarship for academic reasons can file a Request for a Scholarship Reinstatement Form with the Director of Financial Aid to request reinstatement. Reinstatement is considered on a case by case basis and is dependent on available funding.

• File the FAFSA by March 1 every year.
• Beginning with the 2018-2019 award year, students who received state financial aid (Guaranteed Access Grant, Educational Assistance Grant, and Campus Based Educational Assistance Grant) for at least two years beginning with the 2015-2016 award year and thereafter, will be required to meet certain Credit Completion Requirements (24-30 credits) to renew state financial aid awards in subsequent years. Please note that your EA/GA award may be prorated if you complete less than 30 credits, i.e. 24-29.
• Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
• If applicable submit annually all required documentation by April 2nd.
• If applicable, continue to demonstrate financial need.
